Toledo School for the Arts Dance Intensive

About the TSA Dance Department

The Toledo School for the Arts Dance Program includes a wide range of styles including modern, jazz, tap, ethnic, and popular forms. Under the direction of faculty members Talina Tolson, Kerri Wilde, Alison Reny, Bethany Urbanski, and Ashley Hunker TSA students dance for up to several hours each day, focusing their interests in individual styles or learning a wide breadth. TSA dancers perform frequently; the several dance companies which TSA presents include Hajera, a modern company, the Ethnic Dance and Drum troupe, which performs dances from Africa, the Caribbean and Bali, and Limitless. TSA dancers can be found in almost every dance studio in the area including the Toledo Ballet, Ballet Theatre of Toledo, and Company C Dance Club.  TSA dancers have performed for the Toledo Opera and Toledo Repertoire Theater, and have won national awards and attention from Broadway to LA.

The Toledo School for the Arts combines college preparatory academics with experiential and career-oriented arts programming in Dance, Music, Theater and the Visual Arts, for students in grades 6-12. A public charter school with no tuition, TSA provides an excellent alternative for students and families seeking small class sizes, introductory and advanced arts programs, challenging academics, and innovative curriculum. TSA students come from every area school district, making for an exceptionally diverse community.
